อุปกรณ์ LoraWAN คือ อุปกรณ์ที่ทำหน้าที่เชื่อมต่อบนเครือข่ายในระยะทางไกล (Long Range)ได้โดยใช้พลังงานต่ำ เทคโนโลยี LPWAN นี้ เหมาะกับการสื่อสารระหว่างอุปกรณ์ IoT ด้วยกันเองหรือจะสื่อสารกันระหว่างเครื่องจักร (ที่เรียกกันว่า M2M = Machine To Machine) ก็ได้เช่นกัน
